rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is surgery that changes the shape of the nose, and is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures in plastic surgery.
Rhinoplasty can decrease or increase the size of the nose, change the shape of the tip or dorsum, narrow the nostrils or change the angle between the nose and the upper lip. It also corrects congenital problems, trauma and some respiratory problems.
Rhinoplasty is performed to:
- Reduce the size of the nose.
- Change the shape of the tip of the nose or the bridge of the nose.
- Reduce the opening of the nostrils
- Change the angle between the nose and upper lip.
- Correct a congenital defect or injury.
- Help relieve some nasal breathing problems.

Recovery:
Full recovery takes a year, but most of the swelling will have improved after 2 to 3 months.
Healing is a slow and gradual process. The tip of the nose may have some swelling and numbness for several months, but it will improve over time. You may not be able to see the final results for up to a year and sometimes longer.
Nose surgery is considered an elective procedure when it is performed for cosmetic reasons. In these cases, the purpose is to change the shape of the nose to one that the person finds more desirable.
